On the Heart and Blood of Animals

1. blood enters right atrium 
2. blood passes through valves (tricuspid) to right ventricle 
3. ventricle propels blood through plumonary vein to lung where it drops off carbon dioxide and picks up oxygen 
4. oxygenated blood enters pulmonary artery empties into left atrium. 
5. blood passes through valves (mitral valves) to the left ventricle 
6. left ventricle pushes blood to the aorta.
